Exciting education opportunities with Field Farm Project

Through an exciting range of environmental education we aim to instil a sense of curiosity, responsibility and understanding towards our natural world, helping to develop our children into confident, responsible and healthy adults.

Current research is showing time and again, the positive benefits of direct and frequent contact with the natural world for our children, young people and adults. We have long recognised and seen for ourselves significant development in young people’s confidence, social skills, self-awareness and general happiness levels when attending our long term programmes.

With a focus on individuals’ personal development, we aim to help children and young people discover their potential through engagement with and understanding of our natural environment. Programmes are designed to meet the needs and requirements of each group and are flexible to evolve over long term programmes. We have a strong emphasis on creativity of ideas and craft using natural materials sourced sustainably and locally.

We are very proud to be recognised providers of the John Muir Award and work closely with a number of schools on delivery this excellent award.

‘This is an environmental award scheme focused on wild places. It encourages awareness and responsibility for the natural environment, in a spirit of fun, adventure and exploration.’ The John Muir Award is very flexible in its requirements and achievable for all who take part, providing a fantastic frame work from a highly regarded organisation.

Our programmes include elements of outdoor living skills, bushcrafts, farming, conservation, natural history and horticultural skills. Our trips and visits include:

  • Links with cross-curricular planning
  • Overnight camps
  • Enrichments days
  • Year 7 Induction Days
  • Teacher Training events
  • Alternative Education Provision
  • In-School experiences.

We strive to help pupils and students to explore our local environments but also develop a connection to the wider world, global environmental issues, conservation strategies and ways of working towards sustainable futures.

If you are interested in finding our more about our fantastic visits for your pupils or students please do get in touch with Mollie McMillen to discuss your requirements and ideas. It's a wonderful place to take a class

Awesome day at Field Farm Project with my class doing Bushcraft Studies. Children had an amazing time building shelters, making fire, weaving willow platters and cooking elderflower fritters.
